Pete Beer Guitars Review by Andy
Some time ago I purchased a Pete Beer Guitar from Ivor Mairants, at the time I was a beginner with little sense of what makes a good guitar and just took a 'punt'. After two years and some improvement in my ability to play I can now say that, if this guitar is anything to go by, it is quite likely that any Pete Beer guitar will be a match for most, if not all, the best hand made guitars you can possibly audition. Although sensitive to the make of strings, and the abillity of the player for that matter, you should find his guitars have an eveness of strengths that will reach some of the highest standards and a depth of musicality that is always refreshing. Also a Beer guitar should mature in a very pleasing way making you want to go back, again and again, to your earlier performances. I have tried a few guitars to see if my purchase was a good one, up to £4 to £5k so far, and I can't say any improved significantly on my 2007 model. If his work is at all consistent, any Pete Beer guitar will rewarded you with a genuine passionate musical experience that will satisfy and haunt your music for years to come. A Williams Harrogate.
